The Bureau of Planning and Sustainability completed a series of workshops in the last two months aimed at gathering public input for the Portland Plan, the updating of the 1980 Portland Comprehensive Plan. The workshops consistently drew more than 100 people. Last month also the bureau convened the first meeting of a public advisory committee for the project; 36 of 60 people selected showed up. The next step, according to planner Eric Engstrom, is a hearing to gather public reaction to a series of “issue papers” compiled by the bureau to address specific issues. The hearing will begin at 6 p.m. January 26 at 1900 S.W. 4th Ave. To access the information visit www.pdxplan.com.
