During their women’s clothing sale April 9–11, Acey’s Closet joined with the Oregon affiliate of the international nonprofit Dress for Success, opening their doors and inventory to benefit low-income women reentering the workforce.
The biannual sale raised more than $11,000 in funding to support Dress for Success programs, which give women the resources and support they need to secure employment. Sale items included clothing and accessories such as spring dresses, eveningwear, designer high heels and sandals, and even costume wear. More than 450 shoppers came to the store, located in the old 7-Up Building at 1532 N.E. 37th Ave., over the three-day sale. Forty volunteers staffed the sale.
The next Acey’s Closet sale is scheduled for the first weekend in October. Visit Dress for Success Oregon’s Web site: dressforsuccess.or/oregon for more information about the programs, including how to get involved as a volunteer.
