Harold Cafourek set the mood with his concertina during the Oktoberfest dinner at Columbia River Brewing., 1728 N.E. 40th Ave., where chef Josh Stockman served a four-course meal to about two dozen guests.
Master brewer Rick Burkhardt and his wife, Lynn, the business owners, arranged the event September 26 as one of their several themed events during the year. The meal included a German pretzel matched with Sandy Blonde Ale. The beet, apple and bleu cheese salad with Riesling vinaigrette dressing was served with CRB’s Rose City Wheat Ale. The third course included braised sauerbraten with spaetzle dumplings and Hollywood Hefe. For dessert, the guests were served a spiced poached pear with crème Anglaise paired with Double Vision brew.
