Periodicals Paradise, one of the country’s largest back-issue magazine stores, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Halloween with a special sale and refreshments.
The shop, which attracts television stage crews, museum staffs, artists and collectors, has been at 1924 N.E. 40th Ave. for nearly two years. It opened in 1988 on Southeast Belmont St. under the ownership of Oliver Hutchins, who retired a half-dozen years ago.
Periodicals Paradise moved to six different locations before opening in the Hollywood district, said the current co-owner and manager, AJ Jones. He began at the shop in 1990 then left for a few years. His co-owner is Mark Fleskes, who has more than 25 years of management experience.
“We at Periodicals Paradise want to thank all our many customers and friends who helped us in our first 25 years,” Jones said, “and we look forward to serving you for many more.”
