As property and business owners in the Hollywood neighborhood, we are very concerned about the proposed micro-apartment complex on Northeast 41st Avenue near Trader Joe’s. We believe the city zoning code does not adequately address this type of structure or use, nor has the impact of this type of development upon our neighborhood been fully examined.
The project currently falls under Community Design Standards, which allows the permitting process to proceed without public input, and is wrongly categorized as Group Living, which allows no parking space requirement in this zone. We request that the project be halted until zoning code and impact issues have been explored and reviewed by members of the City Council, including the Director of Development Services, along with the Planning Director, with public input included.
We are counting on the help and leadership of the Mayor and City Commissioners before December 2nd when BDS permit reviewers are to have their first round of comments turned in for this plan.
