Selling your home can be stressful, but the steps needed to ready the home for showing don’t have to be daunting, said Staci Byers, an interior designer who has started Ready to Sell PDX.
Byers works with owners and their existing furniture and accessories to create a home ready for potential buyers. And, she said, her services are unique and budget-minded.
Her services can be tailored to suit her client’s needs. She provides a thorough consultation, inside and outside the home, to let the owner know what is needed to be ready for the market.
Color, she said, is an important element often overlooked, yet it can provide cohesiveness in a home. For that reason, she offers a color consultation with most clients along with ideas for optimal furniture placement and strategic de-cluttering.
“Buyers respond to houses that look like a home,” Byers said, “a place they can see themselves in and where they can imagine entertaining, relaxing and having fun. Sometimes it takes someone from outside the home to view it from a buyer’s point of view, and that’s where I come in.”
She was inspired to start her business after going through a long home search herself in 2012.
“Time and time again,” Byers said, “I walked through houses that could have been so much more appealing with some minor adjustments.”
Byers finally found her dream home in Irvington, then decided to start a business inspired by her own house-hunting experience.
Studies have shown that a well-prepared home sells more quickly and for more money than others, she said. She offers more information: www.ReadytoSellPDX.com.
