The Portland Food Project, an all-volunteer organization, is seeking more residents who will provide non-perishable food to two Northeast Portland pantries on a regular basis, said spokesman Richard Nudelman.
Volunteers have begun donating items for the Northeast Emergency Food Program, a program of Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, and Casa Trinidad Food House, a program of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Residents may become Green Bag donors by contacting the project for a bag, buying one or two extra items of nonperishable food each time they shop, and depositing them in the bag. About every eight weeks, a volunteer will pick up the bag and take it to a local pantry.
Prospective donors may call (503) 775-2110 or e-mail gro.t1503216152cejor1503216152pdoof1503216152dnalt1503216152rop@o1503216152fni1503216152, with Green Bag in the subject line.
