Opening its first two Oregon stores in Beaverton and Tigard last year, Orchard Hardware Supply Stores plans to open an outlet in Portland’s Hollywood Business District later this year. The announcement was formalized with Jerry Baysinger’s February presentation to the Hollywood Boosters. Oppidan Investment Company is redeveloping the 48-lane Hollywood Bowl at Northeast 41st Avenue and Halsey Street. Jerry Baysinger of Baysinger Partners in Southeast Portland is the architect.
Orchard, founded in 1913 as a San Jose, California, purchasing cooperative, bills itself as “a neighborhood hardware and garden store focused on paint, repair and the backyard” with an average retail space of 44,000 square feet. Hollywood Bowl, built in 1963, has 42,404 square feet of floor space in addition to an open-air parking area.
