For the Hollywood Star
Daniel Martin, a Northeast resident and junior at Central Catholic High School, is in his third year as a cast member for the Oregon Children’s Theatre’s Impulse Troupe.
The improvisational group will deliver the theatre’s seventh year of fast-paced comedic scenes and games all based on audience suggestions. They work without scripts or costumes and with no idea what might happen next.
They will take the stage at 7 p.m. March 6-8 and March 13-15 in the Young Professionals studio theater, 1939 N.E. Sandy Blvd. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. The box office number is (503) 228-9571. The website is www.octc.org.
Daniel was part of the Impulse Troup that retired last year as 10-time champions in a local improvisational competition. He also has been in the children’s theatre’s WWII Radio Christmas productions. He has performed with Staged!, Northwest Children’s Theater and Lakewood Theater in Lake Oswego.
Joining him in the Impulse Troupe will be Hannah Baggs, Connor Johnson, Ally Merkel, Stephanie Roessler, Simon Schiller and Lea Zawada. Their director is Jake Michels, a former student in the Oregon Children’s Theatre’s Acting Academy.
The Impulse Troup includes the theater’s “Young Professionals,” who are students age 13 and older who seek advanced training for professional development.art
