In late May, restauranteur Ninh Vuong opened his third enterprise, Pho Corner, at the intersection of Northeast 62nd Avenue and Sandy Boulevard. Tosis Restaurant for four decades, Pho Corner now offers Vietnamese fare in a thorough interior remodel and a colorful coat of exterior paint.
Vuong owns two Vietnamese eateries, both named Pho Dalat, in Parkrose and Hawthorne business districts. He worked at Intel before switching to his current career in 2001 and plans on hiring about eight employees at Pho Corner, his largest venture. The restaurant will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
Motorists, neighbors and neighboring business owners watched the triangular two-story building’s transformation over the past half-year shift into high gear during April and May. Vuong opened Pho Corner with a day of free samples for potential patrons, neighbors and friends.
