The 4,180-square-foot space is undergoing renovation, and the finished learning center will have an abundance of natural light, Morton said. The renovation also will produce a studio space or atelier for small group use. This could include exploratory projects or art experiences.
Small Wonders has a pre-school program with the convenience of child care hours, the director said. The hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. The school was voted Metro Parent’s magazine “family favorite” for 2014-15.
“We explore a variety of themes with our lesson plans, incorporating all of the multiple intelligences,” Morton said. “Our days are filled with free play, exploratory projects, song circle and quality art experiences where children are exposed to a variety of art materials, styles and techniques.”
The center will be licensed for up to 60 children, ages 24 months to kindergarten qualifying age. The staff will include 15 full time positions. Enrollment for a summer session has started and also for the 2015-16 school year. Information: www.smallwondersschool.org.
