The Hollywood Lions Club will host a Get-to Know-Your-Neighbors Ice Cream Social on July 25 in the basement of Rose City Presbyterian Church from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during the Hollywood Farmer’s Market. They will also be collecting eyeglasses at the market to assist people in the state who require vision correction but can’t afford it.
The Lions are community activists promoting sight and hearing testing and awareness, as well as other projects. They have many projects throughout the year, including diabetes awareness and support and a “Shoes for Kids” program with the Southeast Portland Lions Club. The Lions were chartered in 1929 and have been serving the local community for more than 75 years. Information on joining the group will be available at their booth at the market.
