Peak Mortgage has opened a new office in the former Hattie’s Sweet Shop space at 4815 N.E. Fremont St. in Beaumont Village. The branch’s manager, Eric Dunlap, is well known in the neighborhood as one of the owners of Rose City Futsal.
“I’m an Oregon native. I grew up in Portland, went to the University of Oregon and have lived in Northeast Portland since 1992,” said Dunlap. “Working in the mortgage industry since 2003, I am also a local business owner and active in building, growing and supporting futsal and soccer throughout our community. Beaumont is a vibrant and dynamic community of local businesses that serve the community I love and call home. I can’t imagine living anywhere else.”
Rose City Futsal was founded by nine local families that wanted to develop a family-friendly business, offering year-round sports entertainment for youth and adults. The indoor soccer facility is located on the edge of the Rose City Park neighborhood at 5010 N.E. Oregon St. in the former Standard TV and Appliance Warehouse.
“We opened in September 2013, so we’re nearing our two-year anniversary here in Northeast Portland,” said Dunlap. “I love sports of any kind. I watch a lot of sports, but almost exclusively when my two kids are involved.”
Dunlap has had a mortgage office in Northeast Portland since 2005 and opened his new space on a well-traveled stretch of Fremont in order to give Peak more visibility to the community.
“We offer all sorts of residential mortgage options like conventional loans, FHA, VA, USDA, no-down-payment loan options, jumbo loans and investment property loans,” said Dunlap. “We focus on being more knowledgeable than the competitors so we can match the right loan to our client’s unique situation and needs.”
