Senior Cynthia Aguilar-Arizmendi has been selected as Benson High School’s representative to the 2016 Rose Festival Court. The final princess selected, Aguilar-Arizmendi was named in a ceremony at the school on Friday afternoon.
Aguilar-Arizmendi is the student body president at Benson and hopes to pursue a career in law, medicine or business. Her favorite Rose Festival event is the City Fair.
“I enjoy the Rose Festival City Fair because it is located right along my favorite place in the city, the waterfront,” she said. “I love going on the Ferris Wheel and getting a view of the waterfront that I couldn’t get otherwise. I am very fond of making memories and treasuring the happy moments that I get in life and City Fair is significant to that.”
Aguilar-Arizmendi will receive a $3,500 scholarship from The Randall Group. The Rose Festival Court is sponsored by Unitus and the Queen of Rosaria will be named the morning of June 11, prior to the Spirit Mountain Casino Grand Floral Parade.
