After many years of service to the community at Paulsen’s Pharmacy on the corner of Northeast 43rd and Sandy, Gary and Karen Balo are finally slowing down and will retire this spring. Gary has been at the drugstore since 1970 and Karen has worked there since 1984. New ownership is in place – and next month’s Star will feature a full report on their plans to continue and expand on the Paulsen’s legacy.
“It is difficult to find words to adequately say thank you to all of the friends and customers who have been coming to us over the years,” said Balo. “We’ve become friends, neighbors and extended family with many wonderful people during this time. We will never forget those that we have helped and we pray that they and their families are blessed with good health and happiness long into the future.”
“Paulsen’s Pharmacy has been around since 1918 and will continue to serve the community as a locally owned pharmacy with the same commitments to service and quality that our customers have grown accustomed to,” said Balo. “We hope that our customers will continue their patronage – and also continue to support our local small business community.”
