Sue Mautz and her friends at The Arrangement will celebrate 36 years of business in Beaumont Village this month with a special, anniversary sale on Saturday, May 14.
There will be refreshments and a 25% discount will be offered on all purchases, for everything in the store. Longtime customers can also share their “Arrangement story” for a chance to win one of four $100 gift certificates.
“We used to offer a discount for the percentage of the anniversary we were celebrating,” said Mautz. “But once we got over 30, that got to be a bit much.”
The Arrangement opened across the street in 1980 next to Hamburger Patty’s, in the space that is now Americana Frame. In 1983 they moved into the remodeled Fremont Gas Station, which was built in 1924. Took over the whole building, which Mautz now owns, in 1993. The Arrangement has grown into an essential neighborhood gathering place, carrying a line of gifts, clothing, home decor, candles, cards and gifts.
“We’ve always had great neighborhood support and that has been the backbone of our business,” said Mautz. “We’re also a shopping destination though, and people come from all over town to have lunch at one of our great neighborhood restaurants and visit the Fremont shops.”
