GreenSavers, a leading home performance contractor in Portland and Bend with an office in the Kerns neighborhood, has been selected by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a winner of the 2016 Energy Star Contractor of the Year Award. Out of 2,100 contractors across the country, GreenSavers is one of only six to win the award.
Over the last two years, GreenSavers has improved the safety and efficiency of more than 650 homes in Oregon, and their retrofits can reduce greenhouse gas emissions equal to the emissions released by burning 660,000 pounds of coal.
“We really value our partnership with Energy Star,” said Robert Hamerly, GreenSavers founder and principal. ”It’s exciting to see how much we’ve accomplished over the last few years. We’ll keep fighting the good fight, doing what’s right for our customers, reducing emissions and improving the resilience of our communities.”
“We’re proud to recognize GreenSavers for their work in helping homeowners make performance improvements to their homes,” said Ely Jacobsohn of Energy Star. “Performance contractors like GreenSavers demonstrate that homeowners value the confidence inspired through partnering with Energy Star and are leaders in raising the bar of the home improvement industry.”
GreenSavers is the largest contractor in Oregon focusing on home performance. Since 2007, GreenSavers has completed more than 3,600 home energy audits and 1,200 projects. Their specialties include windows, insulation, water heaters, heating and cooling systems, solar and seismic.
