On June 3, neighborhood real estate brokers took a day off from showing houses to volunteer for Friends of the Children on Windermere‘s Community Service Day. Windermere Stellar brokers spent the day blowing up balloons, baking treats, hanging streamers and setting up tables for Friends of the Children’s Pride Celebration, a community gathering to celebrate youth who identify as LBGTQ.
Each year, Windermere Real Estate brokers, managers, owners and staff close their offices and gather together to devote their workday to making positive changes in the neighborhoods they serve through local projects and volunteerism. Established 32 years ago, Windermere’s annual Community Service Day has been recognized nationally as a model, hands-on volunteer program and has been adopted by other companies and businesses around the country.
Locally owned and managed for 40 years, Windermere Stellar has offices in Portland, Vancouver, Lake Oswego, West Linn and the north Oregon coast. Brokers donate a portion of their commission from every transaction to the Windermere Foundation, which supports low-income children and families. To date, more than $2 million has been donated to 100 local organizations.
