Noe and Anna Garnica will open the fourth location of their Northwest farm-to-fork inspired Mexican cafe, Verde Cocina, at 3746 N. Mississippi Ave. in the Boise neighborhood. The couple also operates three Verde Cocina locations on the west side in Hillsdale, the Pearl District and Sylvan Highlands.
“We’ve been looking for a place on the east side for a long time, since right after we opened our first location five years ago,” said Anna Garnica. “The opportunity and timing were finally right. We are very excited to be in the heart of such a fabulous neighborhood.”
The new cafe, set to open in late June in the space formerly occupied by the North Light restaurant, will include a bar and both indoor and outdoor dining areas with seating for approximately 54 inside and 60 on the patio.
Verde Cocina offers a gluten-free menu that uses ingredients tailored to meet a variety of dietary needs from carnivores and paleos to vegans. Menu items feature local cheeses, eggs from pasture-raised chickens, produce sourced from regional farmers, grass-fed beef and pork, ancient grains, and fresh-squeezed juice cocktails.
