By Northeast Community Center staff
Calling all neighborhood monsters, ladybugs, and superheroes. We have an invitation for you. Join your neighbors for a frightfully fun Halloween event at the Northeast Community Center, your local independent non-profit community center.
Each October, the NECC is joined by neighborhood partners Albina Bank, Spark Arts Center and the Hollywood Library to host a ghoulishly good afternoon of Halloween fun. This year, on Saturday October 29, from 1-4 p.m., NECC’s historic gymnasium will be transformed into an old-fashioned carnival full of booths and games with live music and interactive opportunities.
Everyone is welcome, and the cost of admission is a can of food for donation to the Oregon Food Bank. The event is recommended for children up to age 10 and younger (and all children must be accompanied by an adult). So bring your friends and neighbors – the event is open to all. It’s our way of saying thanks, to all our friends, without pulling pranks.
For one night only, November 4, from 4-8 p.m., the NECC will again host its annual Fine Art and Cool Craft Show and Sale. Members and neighbors are invited to stop in for complimentary wine and cheese, relax while listening to a live jazz combo and browse the show for unique gifts for those on your holiday lists. At this community event you will find a wide variety of original work handcrafted by local vendors: watercolor paintings, jewelry, soaps, origami cranes and a variety of other imaginative items.
