Dan Bartholomew, who has worked with start-up companies and provided executive coaching, is the new executive director of Free Geek, a Portland-based nonprofit that recycles electronics and provides computers and internet education to schools and non-profit organizations.
He succeeds Michael Kosmala, who served as interim executive director from August 2015 to August 2016. Most recently Bartholomew has been managing partner of Griffin Dunn, LLC, which provides executive coaching and strategic consulting.
Bartholomew expects to work with employees, volunteers, community partners and supporters to strengthen Free Geek as a leader in environmentally responsible reuse and recycling of electronic devices and providing services to communities through education and donated materials.
“First and foremost, I was passionately drawn to Free Geek’s mission,” Bartholomew said in a news release. “The organization’s ability to bridge the digital divide while also helping the environment places it as a leader in the field. I am excited to be part of the Free Geek team to define its next proud chapter.”
