Thanks to the Beaumont Business Association, Santa and Mrs. Claus will once again bring joy to children in Beaumont Village on Friday, December 2 – along with music, entertainment, activities and plenty of warm beverages.
The BBA membership sponsors Fremont Holiday Fest annually. Once again this year, the association will be raising money and collecting canned food donations for the Oregon Food Bank. Everyone visiting Santa is encouraged to bring a donation to support hungry families in our community.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by fire truck at 3:30 p.m. and will cruise down Fremont to Grand Central Bakery at 4440 N.E. Fremont St., where they’ll be taking photos with children from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Santa Paws is also returning to the festival this year. Green Dog Pet Supply at 4327 N.E. Fremont St. will be hosting Santa Paws indoors for neighbors who’d like a holiday photo of their pet from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Green Dog will be collecting donations for The Pongo Fund to support unhoused pets in our community. A $10.00 donation is suggested.
Reserving your spot with Santa or Santa Paws in advance is encouraged. Visit www.beaumontvillagepdx.com for instructions.
New this year, neighbors can sign up for a complimentary 5:00 or 6:30 p.m. guided relaxation with Laura Washington at Luminance Yoga on N.E. 41st. Ave. Also new this year, Grant High School carolers will be performing up and down the street during the event.
Other activities will include a Rudolph bean bag toss at Dee’s Golden Door, reindeer food-making at Peak Mortgage, holiday craft-making at Umpqua Bank, Hot Toddy and other beverage specials at Thrive Sauce and Bowl, Spanish coffee specials at Amalfi’s, 20 percent off regular-priced items at Amenity Shoes, live a cappella music at Blackbird Wine Shop, drinks and treats at Found on Fremont, ten percent off gifts and accessories at Gazelle, crafts for kids at Silhouette and snowflake-making at Paperjam Press. Many other Beaumont businesses will also be offering special deals, food and beverages during the event.
“We have a wonderful community, and we’re so pleased our business district has an opportunity to open its doors and welcome everyone in,” said Kurt Sand, president of the business association. “It’s also important to take care of those who need our help. We’re very glad to be partnering with the Oregon Food Bank again.”
Major sponsors for this year’s holiday fest include Alameda Brew House, The Arrangement, Erin Fortin Photography, Frazier Wealth Management, Peak Mortgage and Sand’s Solutions and Venture Portland. Supporting sponsors include Albina Community Bank, Green Dog Pet Supply, Paperjam Press and The Star News.
