Recent activity at the vacant Taco Time property, 5036 N.E. Sandy Blvd., included the removal of equipment from inside the building that has been closed for more than a year. Developer Vic Remmers is proposing a six-story, 89-unit apartment building on the site, with retail space on the ground floor and 21 parking spaces.
Remmers said, “While this project is still in its early stages, we’re continuing to work with the city to finalize the design and make adjustments along the way based on their feedback. Once we’ve received design approval, our team plans to submit for the necessary building permit and move forward with this mixed-use apartment project, providing sustainable urban housing for the city’s current and incoming residents.”
Plans include using the private house to the south on Northeast Thompson Street, but public records show that the structure is still in private ownership.
