In January, Hollywood neighbor Isaac Dixon will join Portland State University as associate vice president for human resources. Dixon has lived in the neighborhood for 28 years, after moving from Los Angeles in 1978.
“I am absolutely delighted that Isaac is joining the PSU campus and bringing his deep experience and knowledge of human resources,” said Kevin Reynolds, PSU vice president of finance and administration. “His extensive board and community involvement, as well as his teaching at PSU, demonstrate a longstanding commitment to higher education, Oregon and the Northwest.”
Dixon holds a Ph.D. in organization and management from Capella University and has over 25 years of experience. He has been associate vice president for human resources at Lewis & Clark College for the past seven years. He has served on the board of directors for the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources, and is currently a member of their public policy committee. He serves on the board of directors for both Central City Concern and the PCC Foundation. He has previously served as director of the Human Resource Certification Institute Board, commissioner at the Oregon Commission on Black Affairs, and board member for the Urban League of Portland.
Dixon teaches human resources-related courses as a part-time faculty member in PSU’s School of Business Administration, where he mentors aspiring human resources professionals. Dixon is passionately engaged with issues of sustainability, global equity, change management, and progressive governance.
