“Tillamook House is a converted house that’s home to multiple businesses, and I share an office space with another massage therapist,” said Kreidi. “We have a large treatment room with a consultation area and it’s a very comfortable space. The focus of my practice is helping people to reduce and eliminate muscle pain and have full and healthy movement in their joints – whether they’re dealing with recent or chronic pain; undergoing rehab after a surgery or injury; or dealing with the specific needs of athletes to improve performance.”
Kreidi began his massage therapy career while living in Las Vegas.
“Friends encouraged me to go to school, because they said I had talent and because Las Vegas had so many massage therapy jobs available,” said Kreidi. “I also thought it would be a great way to travel the world. Early on, I realized I wasn’t very interested in the spa industry and was more inclined to medical and sports massage and massage for functional movement. I had previously studied martial arts and Eastern philosophy and found many aspects of massage that complement those experiences. I went on to get advanced training in deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, Thai massage and – my personal favorite – Tui na Chinese medical massage.”
Kreidi specializes in Tui na, which uses the acupoints and energy pathways of Chinese medicine.
“I focus on dealing with people’s specific issues and complaints and usually don’t do a full body massage,” said Kreidi. “I approach the session more like a therapeutic treatment. Since I’ve worked in physical therapy and chiropractic clinics – as well as with numerous athletes – my work is complementary with those approaches. I also offer a ten percent discount for all services paid with Bitcoin.”
Tui na is often used in conjunction with acupuncture, moxibustion, fire cupping and Chinese herbalism.
“Hollywood Community Acupuncture is a wonderful business,” said Kreidi. “I know the owner Marianne Banke and I love the community acupuncture approach because it makes acupuncture accessible to more people.”
