In December, doctors Cambrie Burns and James Taylor opened Flex Chiropractic + Movement Lab at 5212 N.E. Sacramento in Rose City Park. The space was previously home to Cascade Insights, a marketing company specializing in the technology industry.
“The space was mostly ready for us,” said Burns. “We are still adding to our movement space where we do exercise therapy. We are looking to add full length mirrors, yoga balls and more kettlebells and Indian clubs.”
Taylor served in the U.S. Army as a medic and played lacrosse at Portland State University. Burns originally wanted to pursue a career in dance. Both experienced injuries and were inspired by the chiropractic treatment they received for those injuries. They attended the University of Western States together and discovered a mutual interest in opening a clinic.
“At Flex Chiropractic we offer not only chiropractic manipulation of the spine, but also joint manipulation for any joint in the body,” said Burns. “We also offer soft tissue manipulation, electric and ultrasound therapy, movement screening and exercise prescription. We focus on finding the underlying dysfunction that has led a person to experience pain.”
“We know that the people of this area are warm and inviting and we wanted to be a part of a community that shares those traits,” said Taylor. “It has been a great fit, and as we meet more and more or our neighbors, it is clear that we’ve made a wise decision.”
