Thursday nights at Portland’s Development Services Center, 1900 S.W. Fourth Ave., are reserved for homeowners and tenants with questions about one- and two-family dwelling projects. Beginning on April 6, staff will keep the office open until 7:30 on Thursday evenings.
The aim is to answer citizens’ general questions about permitting and land use processes, help homeowners and tenants understand what plans and documents will be required for review, and identify permits and inspections necessary for a successful project.
“Traditionally, regular business hours are somewhat difficult for working people and families to get to the city for permits,” said commissioner Chloe Eudaly, in charge of Portland’s Bureau of Development Services, “These new hours will make things more accessible to the larger community.”
