The aluminum framed doors of the historic Hollywood Theatre will be replaced in June with Oregon-crafted, mahogany-framed doors modeled after the 1926 originals, said Alison Hallett, marketing director.
As part of the ongoing restoration of the building , the entryway also will be improved with updated poster cases and anti-slick flooring through the summer, she said. The work will provide accessibility according to the Americans with Disabilities Act and increase energy efficiency.
To date, other restoration work has included a marquee based on the original, new historic paint colors inside and out, and restored roof and façade. Funds for the door restoration came from members, donors, the Oregon Parks & Recreation Department, Kinsman Foundation, Pacific Power Foundation, Jackson Foundation and Autzen Foundation.
