Louis Dominion and Mikey Denton have leased a 1278-square-foot space in Ethos Development’s under-construction Bridgetown Apartment project – at 4525 N.E. Fremont St. in Beaumont Village – for their Brick and Mortar barbershop business and hope to open in the space by mid-July to early August.
“We’re working with some great architects and local contractors,” said Dominion. “We want to emulate the neighborhood’s history and capture as much of the Beaumont experience as possible to give our space a real neighborhood vibe. As a barbershop we aim to grow appreciation for the industry through an organic, respectful and genuine approach. Our shop’s mission is to take good care of everyone who walks through our doors, treat them with kindness and provide high quality, efficient service. We welcome patrons of all ages and offer a children’s play area while parents are receiving service.”
Brick and Mortar has a similar space open in the Buckman neighborhood, at 1429 S.E. Hawthorne Boulevard, offering cuts, shaves, beard trims and skincare, hair-care and beard-care products. They were recently ranked as Yelp’s number one barbershop in Portland and are a popular choice for haircuts for kids.
“We’d like to be open when the building delivers,” said Dominion. “We’re targeting mid- to late summer, but understand that there could be some delays. We’re looking forward to getting to know our neighbors and becoming part of the community.”
