Volunteers may help inventory trees in 12 Portland parks this summer, including seven in North and Northeast Portland.
Local Tree Teams, which partner with the Urban Forestry division of the Parks & Recreation Bureau, gather information about park trees that helps determine care and future planning of the city’s tree canopy.
The local parks scheduled for inventory include Alberta, Northeast 19th Avenue and Jarrett Street; Arbor Lodge, North Delaware Avenue and Bryant Street; Cathedral, North Baltimore Avenue and Bradford Street; Irving, Northeast Seventh Avenue and Fremont Street; Wilshire, Northeast 33rd Avenue and Skidmore Street; Rose City Park, Northeast 62nd Avenue and Thompson Street, and Normandale, Northeast 55th Avenue and Wasco Street.
Team leaders must attend one classroom training session and one field training session, then lead other volunteers in at least three inventory workdays this summer, according to information from Urban Forestry.
The schedule for inventories is at www.portlandoregon.gov. Information is available from Julie Fukuda, inventory project coordinator, at 971-337-7437 or vog.n1498263364ogero1498263364dnalt1498263364rop@y1498263364rotne1498263364vniee1498263364rt1498263364.
