Since 1984, The Star has been an integral part of Northeast Portland living and life.

The Star is a monthly newspaper that mails free to 18,000 homes in Northeast and inner Southeast— from NE 82nd Avenue to MLK Blvd, and from Stark to Killingsworth. And in 2012, we expanded our coverage area into North Portland including Kenton, Mississippi Avenue, and the North Williams Street area.

That means, over 75% of our monthly circulation is delivered by the USPS, while 5,000 are available at about 100 different local businesses.

Our loyal readers know each month they will find timely information, articles and advertisements about what’s happening in their neighborhoods.

And it’s a great place to advertise your business because it reaches the people that live, work and shop in North/North East Portland. That includes families in Alameda, Alberta, Montavilla, Madison South, Sullivan’s Gulch, Irvington, Laurelhurst, Broadway, Cully, Roseway, Concordia, Elliot, Fox Run, Hollywood and Beaumont Wilshire, Mississippi, Kenton and other surrounding neighborhoods.

We’ve moved to the Cully neighborhood and miss getting the Star. Can I get my name on the mailing list again?

    Thanks, Lee Brixius

Laurelhurst Village, 3060 SE Stark, 97214, is sponsoring a Book Signing/Presentation/and Sale September 20, 7-:30 pm for THE GIFT OF CARING (Saving our Parents from the Perils of Modern Healthcare), by local authors: Marcy Cottrell, MS and Elizabeth Eckstrom, MD, MPH.

Is this something that would be appropriate to advertise in the Star News? Thanks for your reply. How do I do that?
